Anyways, the after picture is with a quick blowdry only.  No round brush or straighter.  Awesome!  My stylist also suggested getting the BB 4-6 weeks before my wedding so there is some texture for an updo.

I've tried a few of these Keratin straightening treatments now and I've definitely decided that the best products really do come from Brazil.

After all that's where the Keratin Treatment began life, and Escova Progressiva - as the process is known in Brazil - has been around since 2004.

Plus the use of Formaldehyde is banned in Brazil, and manufacturers are required by law to print their ingredients on the packaging, which makes 'Brazilian Blowout' style deceptions impossible.

I've been a regular user since about 2008, and in that time my hair has completely transformed from frazzled out, bleachy blond to a silky smooth sandy colour.

Not straightening my hair every day has really improved the conditioner, even though I swim in the sea 3, 4 or even 5 times a week.

I'd say, go Brazilian every time.

Re: Downtimes of Keratin straightening treatments.

Three days is a long time to wait for some of the products on the market, but the results are well worth it.

Be sure to comb as much product as possible out of your hair, before using irons too, otherwise your hair may feel sticky and be difficult to comb.

There are treatments that require less time, especially Escova Progressiva systems from Brazil, which usually only need two days.

Definitely stay away from same-day treatments as they almost always contain Formaldehyde, or at least a dreivative of it.

Well, I'm particularly fond of Cocoa Keratin System, it's a Brazilian keratin treatment that comes with the pre-treatment shampoo, smoothing treatment and daily shampoo and conditioner. I like it because the treatment lasts up to 5 months and its very safe on my hair, giving it nutrients, moisture and smoothing it down. The protein and argan oil help immensely and strengthen my hair while making ir super shiny. I recommend it :)
