DIY Monogram - What are the rules?

Hello ladies,

 

I started my wedding planning by putting first things first.  I decided I would try to create our wedding monogram since this seems to be a good starting point. 

 

Ok, 20 minutes into working on my first design i realized i have no idea about monogram rules or if there are any for that matter.

 

Does anyone know whose name should come first?

I don't know if there are any rules for monograms, but what I read for invitations is that the bride's name goes first, so I used that for the monogram:) Hope that helps.

from what I read its brides name first then husband..when you're single. when you're married its mans name then womans.

Ooooh...I have been putting my FI's name first for everything...I guess I just always thought the guys name went first :oP  Good to know!

I put his name first just because I think it sounds better then putting mine first lol
