Really Expensive group rate from hotel! UGGGG!!!

So we got our group rate that the hotel is offereing us and it seems REALLY high. (it is almost double the current rate) There are many specials through website that are like half the price of the group rate that they are offereing us. The hotel is not yet booking our wedding date on thier website so it is really hard to compare apples to apples but this is really frustrating.

Has anyone had this experience?

Are the hotel group rates higher for some reason?

If you use the group rates and the rooms go way down in price will they honor the new rates?

WTF....kinda bumbed now.........what if we wait to book to get a discount rate and rooms are all gone?

Hey SDSteph... im currently having the SAME problem. Trying to book a group rate for our June 2012 wedding and were being quoted almost twice as much as the best rate currently offered for our dates on the internet!!!!

I noticed your wedding was this past Feb and wanted to know if you were able to resolve the issue?? Also congratulations!! hope everything went off just as you had hoped!
