Calling all Key West Brides!!

HEEELP!  I am frustrated with looking at soooo many places online, local and away!  I have been to key west once (9 yrs ago) and thought it was a fun time and great place for a laid back wedding.  Before I got engaged (6 months ago), I always said I wanted a destination wedding.  Looking into it, I don't want to break the bank doing so.  I don't want to spend more than $10,000, eventually I want to buy a house!  Which is why I was looking locally, just for something cheap, but not cheesy, but my hearts not in it sad.gif

Our immediate family consists of 15 adults and 5 children (between 2 and 4yrs old).  I want to invite close friends and fam, bout 80-90 (May 2011).  I know they will not all come and its hard to get a true estimate, but I would say maybe 40-50.  I looked into Southern Most Hotel on the beach and loved it, but thought it was a lil pricey.  I am sure there are cheaper options, beach ceremony and then go to restaurant...  I was hoping to get some ideas!  I want my guests to have fun and I want to do the traditional welcome dinner and goodbye brunch too.  Inspire me ladies!

I am getting married at the Pier House Resort, while stopping in KW for our cruise, so I can't help too much with the welcome dinner and brunch, but I will tell you they have nice packages and their catering prices were very reasonable.  I liked their beach area for the wedding, plus they have lots of nice areas for pictures.  The other ones I looked into were the Hyatt and Ocean Key Resort, both great too.  Good luck!

We got married at the Pier House June 26, 2010 and it was perfect.  We had about 50 people total.  Ceremony on the beach and cocktail hour & dinner on the restaurant deck afterward.  We thought it was very cost effective and had a wonderful time.

We had a brunch the next day at the neighboring Hyatt because that was our 2nd choice for wedding and we wanted people to eat somewhere else too.

PM me if you have any questions or want more details!

BTW Teresa Ebeling at the Pier House is so friendly, helpful & accommodating.  Can't say enough good things about her!

We are getting married at Marker 88 Restaurant. We also looked into the Island Grill, Lazy Days, Lorelei, The Islander, and Morada Bay Beach Cafe. The Islander and Morada Bay had site fees around $3500. Of course, food and drinks are additional so those just did not fit into our budget. We liked the atmosphere of Marker 88 the best. It's right on the water.

I got married in Key West Aug 9th and LOVED it! We had about 30 ppl with us and couldn't have asked for a better wedding! With hotel/airfare (just for the two of us), ceremony and reception dinner our total cost was around $7000. We also had group events and a breakfast the day of the wedding, but guests understood that we couldn't afford to pay for everyone and they were fine with paying for their food or sunset sail. I wrote a review of all my wedding vendors in KW etc. on this forum if you want to check it out. If you have questions PM and I'll help as much as possible.
