Has anyone ever done the AHR before the destination wedding??
I have never heard of the reception before you get married. That doesn't mean you can't do if its your wedding and you can celebrate it how you want. If you want to have it before so when you get back you can relax then do be it lol. I am having something very casual when I get back. It's going to be a BBQ and no speaches or sit down meal, just a time to share what our day was like with ppl that couldn't be there. So just showing pics video and having a good time. I don't have money for two receptions lol!!!

Well there are a variety of reasons we would like to do the AHR before, mostly because our parents will not be there. So would like to do a small AHR for our parents and families first, and also give guests who can't attend the option of coming. It won't be a big thing, maybe just a banquet and small ceremony. However I'm not sure what we will say on invitations.. might just do 2

We've decided to have ours before so there is nothing left to plan/do after the wedding. It will be a few weeks before we leave and we are calling it a Bon Voyage party. Invites will go out to those who are unable to go on our wedding cruise.

Forgot to add...we don't know the exact date/location yet, so on the RSVP card under the "unable to attend" option we added a note stating that they can still help us celebrate at our bon voyage party and that invites will be sent in February.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
