Silly question, but...

Recommended Posts

Never! NEVER EVER! For me taking it off means mostly it will get lost. You can’t lose your ring on your finger (assuming it fits correctly so it doesn’t fall off from being too big). I don’t take it off to do anything; meatballs, cleaning, shower, lotion, anything. It doesn’t hurt your ring, but you just need to get it cleaned more so it shines. I have a ring cleaner that helps in between going to the jeweler.

that's what my fiance (almost fiance... whatever rolleyes.gif) says too... she argues against me getting her a ring because she says she'll never wear it for fear of losing it.

Me, now when I get my ring, she's gonna have to wrestle with me to get that sucker off my finger! except in the above mentioned situations... never thought about making hamburgers with it on. meaty greasy gross ring... ew. sad.gif

lol thanks everyone for the response!

Totally not a silly question...

I always take my ring off lol i just dont want something to happen to it and plus im not too keen on wearing jewelry. I take my ring off to take a shower, to work out and to sleep &I would take it off if i would go swimming. I take my ring off as soon as I get home and put it back on when im getting ready to leave lol

I never take it off. This is mostly because my fingers are terrible and even though my ring (a mere size 4.25- I have the tiniest fingers ever!) is big on the bottom part of my finger, it doesn't slide well over my knuckle and it ends up really hurting. I have to say, now that I am pretty much forced to leave it on, it is DEFINETELY a good thing- I am SO forgetful and haphazard that this thing might have been long gone by now.

Sometimes when I shower I get nervous about it coming off (it feels loose) but I actually keep a toothbrush in the shower that I clean it with everyday so the soap scum doesn't stay on there. Also, when I go kayaking, which I do often, you'd think I broke my finger because I wrap gauze and tape around it to keep any lake water from getting near it. (I know, I'm ridiculous, whatever.) :)

Yep, I'm with most of the other girls; I only take my rings off to:

* shower

* prep messy foods or uncooked meats

* most cleaning

* put lotions on

And for my part-time job in a deli (where I have to wear gloves), we are only permitted to wear a plain, smooth band because of the slicers, so I got a simple band just to wear while I'm at that job, because if my husband is wearing his ring all the time out of respect for me and our marriage, I sure as heck will be wearing at least SOMETHING to symbolize our union 100% of the time, too!  ;)  Yeah, I'm cheesy, but it's important to me just the same....

:o) I got yelled at by my friends all the time for taking it off so much!!  I used to take it off for almost everything..even to sleep (I think because I wasn't used to it).  Now I just take it off when I shower, am lotioning or messing with food :oP

I try to take it off when I am doing any cleaning around the house or I'm in the shower. Unfortunately I take it off most days because I am a massage therapist and so I simply can't work with it on. Good question though, I often feel bad because during the day time mine is locked away in the safe and at night I don't put it on to sleep. I've always wondered how much other ladies take theirs off.
