Getting married in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico..where can we go on our honeymoon (not mexico)?

I am having the same problem as you with Jamaica...I talked to my travel agent about it and she said that it's probably best to just come back home and leave from the home airport again because it will screw up so much of the all inclusive package. I'm kind of torn on doing it that way though because it's like, well if I want to go to say Cuba...its only like an hour flight instead of flying all the way back home and back again. So now we're just thinking about staying on the island for the 2nd week instead of the huge headache it's going to be otherwise, but let me know if you find out a better solution!

I'm getting married in Cancun in October of 2011 and my FI and I are thinking of honeymooning in Belize. Belize is near mexico. I've been to belize before and absolutely LOVED it there. We stayed at the bayan bay with some friends. Our friends left and we stayed for another 5 days at the Victoria House. Victoria House is gorgeous and the staff is great. It's perfect for weddings and honeymoons. This time around since it's for our honeymoon we want to change things up. We're looking into Cayo Espanto, Belize. Check it out at www.aprivateisland.com. It's similar to Tahiti but for a whole LOT cheaper. Belize was originally my destination wedding location but figured it would be easier and the least expensive for guest, if we did it in mexico. So mexico wedding it is. but I love mexico too!! Ever thought about Los Cabos? I've heard great things about it and you're already in mexico. I'm looking into Los Cabos as well. Good luck!!

It's also a good idea to check and see if your Travel Agent can get the supplier to extend your flights for another week or two. If this is possible, sometimes the supplier won't even charge for the extention, or it will be a very small fee.

Once you do that, you should be able to fly into Mexico City (although be wary of Mexicana Airlines at the moment, they're possibly going bankrupt). From Mexico City you could fly into places like Costa Rica, Panama, Belize, Nicaragua, Ecuador quite easily. There's a ton of great places that you can Honeymoon there. It would work the same for your flight back, flying into Mexico City and then into Puerto Vallarta.

Hope this helps! :)
