WE PICKED A DATE....NOW WHAT?

Hello I am new to the site.  My H2B and I always wanted a destination wedding and we love Punta Cana, that part was easy>

 

Now the hard part, which resort?  How long should the vacation be?  Do we need to have a travel agent or should we let people book their trips on their own?

 

STD's, Invitations, OOT bags, Survival Kits.... The site is full of great ideas and i am really exited! 

 

From the very little research we have done it seems that Dreams Palm Beach is a great place.

 

Please share resort suggestions...

I can't give you any resort suggestions (try the Reviews, although there do seem to be a lot of Dreams brides!), but I wanted to say welcome and good luck!

You are right, Dreams Palm beach is great! It depends on what you want to get. But there are really many nice things.

Congratulations!  I haven't been to the resort, but I can suggest a few things.  Think about your real budget and the people you want to invite.  That will impact things like STD, invites, OOT bags, etc.  There are soooo many great ideas on this site, that you can do it all or just a little, and it will turn out great either way.  I also read the thread on 'What I would and wouldn't do again' from start to finish with a few notes.  Might be worth looking at when you have time.  As for how to book, contact the resort to get a date and contract/price quotes.  Then talk with a TA or even more than one to find out what they think.  I ended up going with a TA from here (click on link at top of every page to connect with them) and she's been very helpful.  Hope this helps!

Welcome and good luck with your planning!  I think a first step would be to narrow down the places you'd like to go, and then choose a resort from there!
