You mentioned the Barcelo Maya Palace (I know what story you're talking about by the way..) Have you looked at the Bahia Principe Akumel? It's very close to the Barcelo, great beach and excellent with Destination Weddings. I've also found the pricing to be really favourable as well..so you might want to check it out!
