Anxious Newbie

Hi everyone! I need help!!!

 

We have finally picked March 2008 (the last week-no specific day-we are flexible based on whats available) to get married. That took 6 months! I have narrowed down the locations to Mexico (Isla Mujeres/Riviera Maya) or the Carribean (have been looking at St. thomas but haven't ruled out other islands) We have 6 guests-immediate family only. I don't think I want a big AI resort, although that would probably be better for our guests and their different interests. I want something smaller,boutiqe. Isla Mujeres seemed good for that but close enough to Cancun for bigger activities if people want. Anyone here get married in Isla Mujeres? I have contacted a couple WC there and haven't heard back yet.

 

Ok. Bring on the suggestions!!!!!! I am making myself crazy with this.

Isla Mujeres...wow...I love the island, but only because of the topless beaches. I would suggest first is finding a coordinator who is either on the island, or will work there without additional charge.

 

then ask what they suggest as far as beaches to have it, locations, etc.

 

I might also suggest asking my Cancun freak of a wife as she goes every fall...damn her...

welcome! i can't really comment on the specific locations - but don't fret, we'll help you find the perfect place! we have lots of brides getting married in Mexico, all over the place - and a few in the Carribean as well.

I've been to Isla de Mujeres before but to be honest it was during my Senior Trip in HS and we took the "booze cruise" over there so I don't remember a whole lot! I do remember lush surroundings, lots of mosquitoes and a cool show they had set up for us.

 

Sounds like it'd be an interesting place to check out tho! Hopefully someone else can give you some better feedback... good luck!
