Do you have any great butt/thigh toning exercises?

So I'm about 5'2" and thin (I weigh about 105). I definitely don't need to lose any weight, but I'm a very FLABBY in the butt/thigh area!

The thought of spending a week or two at the beach for my wedding is scary, since it will involves wearing a bikini!

Do you have any good toning exercises? I work out about 3-4 times a week for 45 minutes, but I never do any toning. I don't even know where to start.

I think my poor butt needs the most help.

You can do grand plies (ballet exercise); the key is keeping your back straight and not lean forward while doing those. They're great for toning up the thighs. There's also a variety of resistance/weight machines at the gym that are designed for the thighs. I have no idea what they're called though. For the inner and outer thighs, it's two machines on which you seat and spread your legs against resistance, and for the butt, it's an apparatus that you use standing up that reminds me of a wheel of torture. If you do lots of reps as opposed to lots of weight it should help tone up as opposed to bulk up. Someone at the gym should be able to point you in the right direction. And of course, there's always the DVD's of the "buns of steel" type. cheesy.gif

I do both squats and lunges and I recently added deadlifts in also which are amazing. smile43.gif

For squats I use a chair or bench and then squat until my booty touches the edge. Lunges are just lunges....difficult, painful....but really work the legs.

Deadlifts I use weights (usually 10 or 12's) and the stand straight and bend at the waist like you are wearing a really short skirt and picking something off the ground....keep your legs straight and it really works the backs of the legs where the leg meets the butt spot......monkey.gif

I just made no sense and that was really long.....sorry!
