What to do.

Well, I guess I just wanted to vent to my fellow destination brides. Josh and I are really excited about having our wedding in Punta Cana. However we are not getting much positive feedback, which is kind of a downer. We are actually going down with another couple that is our best friends and we are all going to get married while we are in Punta Cana. Not the same day of course, like a Friday Saturday or something. Anyways, everyone has reasons they can't come. His mom is just saying that she doesn't want to go out of the country, my mom is saying she doesn't know, his dad already had a trip to Hawaii planned for the spring of 2009, his sister and her boyfriend are trying to save their own money, and my sister is paying her own way in college. At least my sister is attempting to save up her money so that she and her boyfriend can go. I feel like no one else is even makeing an attempt or even cares! We told everyone ahead of time so that they had enough time to save, so I am just kinda caught off guard that we are running into this! Everyone keeps saying "If you want to get married on the beach why not go to Florida?" Cause we don't want to go to freaking Florida! I'm sure I'm over reacting, it's just a little aggrivating.

 

So I was just wondering if anyone else has run into this problem, or am I on my own on this one?

Haha, no I don't think its just you, I've read lots of threads in the Vent area with other gals saying the exact same thing. Hang in there and just remember that it's your wedding, and everyone else can just screw off if they don't like it. What matters is that you and your man are in love and getting married and you are going to have an amazing vacation. Even if some people can't/don't go who you would really like to be there, just know that the most important part is you and him.
