So I've been waiting to get a new camera so that I can begin blogging, however, I've delayed long enough and I still don't have a camera. So bear with me ladies. My intent is to use this blog to post my plans, DIY, concerns for the wedding however, the pics will have to wait :)

Let me start from the beginning. Why PV? Well, Hans and I began discussing our plans for a wedding Summer 2006. We discussed either having a huge wedding or investing in a house/townhouse. Obviously, we decided on the wedding.

We both have HUGE families and knew that if we had a wedding here in L.A. it would be about 300 ppl and there was no way we could afford something nice. Coming from a tight family there was no way to keep it small and not invite ppl, so we started looking into PV. My mom's hometown is about a 4 hour drive and most of my family takes a trip to Mexico each summer so we knew they would be all for PV. (However deep down I wish we would've considered Puerto Rico, where FFIL is from. we nixed the idea since I thought it would be too pricey to fly and plan. However knowing how much its really going to cost us, I now wish we would've looked into it a little better.)

So my intent for a DW was not to have an intimate, beach wedding. It is to have a big wedding and get our monies worth, haha!

If you ask me what my "dream wedding" would be - I would've answered in an old barn w/ an elegant twist. Here's a link to what I envisioned http://community.theknot.com/cs/ks/u...oon2bmrs.stone

However, I am still very much excited for the wedding we are currently planning and know that it will be better than I could ever imagine!

A barn wedding would have been beautiful. We actually have a venue that is an old barn from the 1920s (apparently they used to do bootlegged dances there). We debated getting married there but in the end it would have been as much as Las Caletas to rent. Not to mention, I have a huge family too! It's way better to escape. I know your wedding will be beautiful. I can't wait to see a Mayan wedding!
