Honeymoon Wishes or Honeyfund

Recommended Posts

great info,  we are looking at going a Honeymoon registry as well.  It just makes more since for us and our guest with it being a destination wedding and not all our family attending.  Even though we have told everyone that gifts are not something they have to bring/give us, everyone keeps asking me "where are you registering".  We both have 2 houses full of stuff when we moved in together last December and had to sell/give items away when we made the move.  Keep us posted on how it works out for you :).

I'm only just seeing this but I set up honeyfund for our registry and have received several gifts from guests so far (mostly the people unable to make the wedding liked the idea that they could still help create memories by purchasing excurisions etc.) So far I have had no problems with receiving the funds or with honeyfund. Everything goes through paypal, its fast and easy!

I'm using Upon Our Star too, and so far it's been great - guests that can't make the wedding have purchased "wishes" for us, all online (& don't have to worry about getting a physical gift to us later) and since we've been living together for some time now, we don't have to have a traditional registry with 'stuff' - the last thing we need is more stuff LOL!!

You could do something slightly different, but with the same idea to get money/cash to pay for it.

My hubbie-to-be's family is Chinese so they are really cool about giving cash - I was a little worried about asking for cash from some of the older members of my family (my friends were fine about it, as they have been in exactly the same position as me!)  so I've set up out list at www.uponourstar.com I've chosen a bunch of cool 'wishes' for us, a lot to do on our honeymoon  (snorkeling, spa, dinner out) , and now my fam can 'buy' us those (& then we get the cash after the wedding, yay!).

Steves' family will still give us red packet / Hong Bao too which will be nice. Also, I'm pretty excited about not getting more stuff, I don't need any more wine glasses or sheets ;*)

I would consider Upon Our Star if you want something a little different!
