Matte vs. Glossy Prints

We want to use few wedding photos to incorporate into our AHR. I don't want to use the nice ones I got with my photo package so I'm ordering my own. I think they'll end up in hanging frames in the garden. I need to choose matte or glossy . . . what do you recommend?

I prefer matte, but I think it's personal preference...

Yeah my pro prints are matte...that would probably work better in the sunlight. Glossy prints may produce too much of a glare.

I always order matte. I think it looks so much better framed.

I'm used to the old school Glossy, but I think Matte would look great to display them outdoors

Glossy doesn't work very well in frames so I would say matte

If you have glossy prints, then you need a non-glare glass in the frame.

 

Well, actually, I'm an advocate of non-glare glass anyways, regardless of print type. I always print everything with matte finish. But if you are printing them yourself, just make sure that if you use matte finish, the color saturation quality of the paper is really good. Otherwise, pictures can be dull looking...

I like Glossy, it shows the colours a lot better, but if you are going to use it outside then you would want to make sure you have glare resistant glass in the frames. If you dont then use matte or you will get a lot of glare in the sun.
