Negotiating with suppliers

Hi i'm wondering if people have had much luck negotiating prices with photographers? In Ireland there is usually scope for negotiation, especially now with the recession, i'm just not sure about the dominican and don't want to offend anyone. I'm looking at HDC at the moment, so if anyone has prices that they managed to negotiate please let me know

In most cases it depends on a package. If all you want is 2 hours and a disk, negotiation maybe a bit hard. However, if you are looking at a full day coverage plus a few additional TTD sessions, albums,prints,canvases,etc then it would be easier for your photographer to offer something extra.
