Invitation Printing Tips - ink vs. paper colors?

Recommended Posts

Hey ladies, I may be tackling some passport invitations and wanted to ask regarding printing.

I want to do a chocolate brown or aqua colored paper (metallic cardstock) for the cover. I had a few ideas such as: aqua font on brown cardstock, silver or gold font on aqua cardstock.

Either way, I am concerned about printing a lighter colored font over a darker paper. Has anyone done this? If so, did you do it at home or professionally? Did it turn out okay?

Unless you're using a specialized ink, an aqua type won't show (or will be really hard to read) on brown cardstock. If you do want this combo you'd have to find a white/lighter paper, then print brown on the background.

It'd probably be a lot easier to print brown on aqua card. :)

I'm a graphic designer so I deal with a lot of printing and this is just my experiences thus far.
