The perils of motherhood

On Tuesday my 6 year old daughter was playing at the water park, when she slid down the slide she must have hit her mouth on something because she knocked out her front permanant tooth. The dentist was able to put the tooth back in her mouth and add some stitches. (I have never heard of this before) We are just praying that the tooth attaches back into her mouth when we go back to the dentist next week to have the stitches removed.

I've had some friends that had that happen as well. One boy (12) knocked out about 6 of his teeth. They have no idea how, but I think 4 of them reattached... so good luck!!

The dentist says there is a 90% chance that the tooth will reattach especially since she is so young. We put the tooth in milk until we reached the dentist office so I guess that help save the tooth. I am just devasted because it is in the front of her mouth. I dont want her to look weird so we might be seeing an orthodontist next. The dentist also works at the county jail so he assured me he has done about 500 reattachments. So she goes back to the dentist on Tuesday and I will let you guys know how it went.

Yes I do I have good news! Thanks for asking! The tooth did reattach back into the mouth. It is still not in as tight as he would like it to be because she still has new tissue (gums) growing onto the tooth. I have to bring her back in two weeks. He expects it to be all good at that point! Yeah!cheer2.gif
