Postage Vent

Recommended Posts

First vent on this forum....not happy to have one sad.gif

I mailed out all my invites on Tuesday.

So guests started receiving them on Wednesday.

This morning at 7:30 am, I received a phone call from my mother who was responsible for taking a complete invitation to the post office to have it weighed to make sure we had the right postage on it, and for the RSVP.

Well, some of our guests have received the invites with big POSTAGE DUE of 35 cents on the envelope.........nice job.

I am livid - but, come to find out its not her fault - its the glorious US post that is ridiculous. Many of our guests received them with no issue, and some have to pay for their invite because a mail clerk weighed them wrong.

So embarrassing.

That is truly a very good reason to be upset with USPS. I mean really, what incompetence! And it truly reflects badly on those in the USPS who do their jobs well and competently. I am very sorry to hear about this and I hope that it blows over quietly enough for you guys sake. Wow, really just ridiculous!

Girl don't get me started on the post office!! They lost my first set of invitations. Thank GOD the company I bought the invites from decided to send me out another set of the invites. Guess what the other set that was lost still hasn't shown up yet. Only the supervisor was helpful the desk clerk was rude.....grrrrr! Aisha is right one imbicile really messes it up for the ones who do do their jobs well. Sorry you had to experience this.

I'm so sorry that happened to you! We had something similar happen, we went to the post office and spent 80 bucks on postage then found out a week later they raised the price of postage so we had to re-buy stamps for the outer envelopes AND open all the invitations to replace the stamps on the inner rsvp envelopes too. All in all we spent about 150 for postage.

Sorry to hear this happened to you.....in the end, don't sweat it.....those who know you and love you know that you would never intentionally make them pay for ANY portion of your invite. It was an accident and as nerve wracking as it can be for us brides who want everything to be perfect, some minor mishaps will happen. Chin up!!! :-)
