My invitations were also "sans parents" since the bulk of the cost was on us.

We had our invitations read as follows:

One love. Two hearts.

Their future starts, beside the sea.

The honor of your presence is requested

at the marriage ceremony of

BRIDE'S NAME

and

GROOM'S NAME

on (spell out the day of the week, month, and year)

at (spell out what time of the day it will be)

SPELL OUT THE NAME OF THE RESORT

SPELL OUT THE AREA, COUNTRY (in which you DW is taking place)

There you have it, sugar! wink.gif

We've been very blessed and both our families have contributed towards our wedding, but this left us with the same predicament - do we mention all of there names (FI parents are divorced and re-married as well!) or none of them! In the end we decided on.....

"Together with their parents Tom and Emily would like to request the pleasure of........."

we were originally paying 100% for our wedding then my parents offered some assistance and DH father, but not his mother. we decided to not 'single' out anyone so we worded our formal invites with...

'together with our families

please join us...

etc'

it worked out great no one knew and no one complained and all parents were happy we listed them.
