Is anyone buying their BM dresses??

We bought two of them for some who didnt have the finances. I have heard of the bride and groom doing this for all but thats if they are loaded. Otherwise, its fine for the women to purchase their own dress and thats more the norm.

Okay - the voice of dissent....Heck No! I never knew it was something to consider. One of my bm's is studying for her PhD and working part time so I offered to buy hers - but she wouldn't let me.

As for the other ones, they buy $300 purses . . . I didn't think twice about them paying $120 for the dress.

I always wanted to do this b/c it's such a nice gesture. I was actually thinking of doing this too since I'm only having my sis, and Joe's two sister's as 'maids but I'm not too sure yet. And the bridal party may get bigger anyway but we will see.

Well to answer your question, I guess it all depends on your financial situation. Maybe lay everything out and go from there. What does your FI think?

I bought my BM's dresses and shoes, I just couldn't ask them to pay for anything more since they are paying for thier own trip!!

I would love to buy my girls their dresses... I think it would be a great gesture. However, it's just not in my budget.

I think if its in the budget, go for it... the girls would really appreciate it.

I am but I only have 2 bms so it's not that big of an expense. I felt like they are spending a lot to go.

We are not. I've been a BM 3 times and have never had the bride pay for the dress. Plus we have 9 MOH's!

I am too. I have 4 BMs. I bought their shoes and am also going to pay to get their hair and make-up done.

I paid for my BM's dresses but i got them for 50 bucks each so I didn't mind. I didn't want to choose a dress they or I wouldnt' be able to afford to buy.

And I think they're pretty cute for that price...
