Adventure Rainforest/Beach Wedding in CR

Hello all!

I first experienced Costa Rica in 2007, where I got an incredible opportunity to explore most of the country, north, south, east west.

We have decided to return and get married over the upcoming Christmas holidays with a New Years wedding!

Problem is, Costa Rica is beautiful all over and there are so many resources, that I can't figure where to go.

Here's what I'm thinking:

-small wedding 10-15 guests (4-5 days + honeymoon for just the two of us)

-rainforest or rainforest/beach combo location (loved the Pacuare River and Pacuare Lodge location, but am open to other options, or similar options elsewhere)

-somewhere that can accomodate older guests in their 60's 70's (for example, rafting in to wedding location, but older guests can access via road)

-somewhere secluded or not so crowded

-a price that guests can afford

-group activities for us and guests that involve eco-tourism and fun!

We are both outdoor enthusiasts, he is a mountain/rock climber and I am a whitewater kayaker and we want to share our passion for the outdoors with our close friends and families, but it can't be too rustic, because some of the guests (my mom) like it a little more high class ;-)

Any suggestions would be greatfully accepted!

Thanks for reading!

Jenny

Manuel Antonio Quepos sounds like your place. You are on the beach and have the Savegre River 25km out of Quepos. You can zip line, kayak/fish, surf, sunset sail, hike & explore the mountains of Tarrazu, MTB in Londres next to waterfalls (I am an adventure junkie myself). Dominical for post wedding is beautiful (like old Costa Rica). Many varieties of accommo: Buena Vista Villas, Los Altos -for mom, Si Como No, Karahe. You can also find great rentals: Casa Discovery, Casa Fantastica, Casa de las Brisas. Hope this helps.

I'll just throw this out there in case it can help you or any other CR brides. During all my research I found a couple of locations that I think are just beautiful.....

This was a recommendation from my FBIL and FSIL. They do quite a bit of traveling and out of any tropical vacations, they said this was their favorite by far. It looks absolutely amazing and FI and I are thinking of doing a one year anniversary trip here :) Check out the pics of the room accomodations...the view is just stunning!!!

Hotel Villa Caletas - Jac Beach, Central Pacific Coast, Costa Rica. Hotel Villas Caletas jaco beach Costa Rica, small distinctive hotels of Costa Rica, Costa Rica hotels, Costa Rica beach resorts, luxury hotels of Jac beach Costa Rica, river raftin

Then at one point we were also considering renting a house for us and our guests - since we are also doing a small ceremony - and I came across the villas below. I exchanged a few emals back and forth with Heather who manages the rentals and she was so easy to work with. The price sounds high but when you break it down by couple, it really isn't that bad. And most of the rentals were all inclusive too...chef, cleaning service, house boy, etc..and Heather also sent me a list of excursions/day trips that are available to book and they will pick you up right at the house. In the end this didn't work out for us, but I still think it would be an amazing place to have a wedding!!
