Sound System- Bose?

I think I remember reading in some thread about people using a small bose speaker to play music at some events instead of using the ridiculously expensive sound system rental from the hotels.

 

Anyone using this (or has used this in the past with success?) I want to have a welcome cocktail party and a couple other small gatherings and I don't want to have to pay $500 for a sound system at each of them. Just curious what other people are doing.

I have a Bose Soundock and while it has great sound and is a packable size it may not be enough to "fill" the space depending on the location. But if you are looking for some great quality sound in a small portable package I think it is probably you best bet. Very easy to use, just set you iPod/iPhone on and crank it up.

We just bought the portable on sale and are bringing it to our site visit tomorrow. We will try it out on the beach. I'll let you know.

i was just at future shop today and they recommended it. Well the $700 huge version first and then the smaller $300 version. I would love to see how it works even though that is still alot of money I think to spend... cant wait to hear...

We just bought it (the smaller one) and it sounds awesome! The crappy thing is you can't hook up a mic through it. You can try it at Costco ...they have it on display!
