Congratulations on your recent engagement!! I'm from Boston as well and I was recently married in Aruba at the Divi. Great resource here for a lot of information. Also check out the forum on aruba.com. There is a great section on weddings there.

Good luck with your planning!

Welcome, I'm originally from MA but now live in NH. I'm getting married on Renaissance Island in July. I would email Juney (the wedding planner for Renaissance) and get some prices. He will also send you pictures of previous weddings that were on the Island. I love the idea of having a private Island to ourselves!! As for where we are staying, I have all my guests staying at the Divi-Divi all inclusive and then just transporting them over to the Renaissance.

I have some pics of Ren Island on my website if you want to check it out. Just look under the "About the Ceremony" and the "About the reception" and you can see some pics.

Thanks everyone for your responses! Andrea, your website is great! We are unofficially holding a date in 2012. Peter & I got engaged in Aruba in May and decided to check out Renaissance Island while we were there. It is absolutely gorgeous and private (which I love!). And Juney seems great!

What kind of music did you select for the ceremony? The reception? What is your color scheme? What color sash, if any, did you select for chairs? Photographer? Hairstylist? I have so many questions! Wishing you the best of luck next month! You must be getting so excited! Thanks again!

Hey Kristin,
Congrats on the engagement!!
I haven't picked any music yet, I'm leaving most of that up to my FI. Actually, most of the music I'm hoping my other half will take care of..Which of course means I'll probably end up doing it.. haha
My girls dresses are cobalt blue so I'm keeping my colors to white and blue. I'm not sure if I'll even do the chair sashes , I may just go with plain white but I'm still deciding on that one.
For my photographer I went with Angela from "bella aruba"
Here's some of her work: Picasa Web Albums - Angela

As for hair, I'm going with Jennive. I found some great reviews on the Aruba.com forums so I emailed her and she's going to come to my room and do my makeup and hair. I even emailed her some photos of styles I loved and she said it wouldn't be an issue, she could do whatever I wanted.
Here's her website but you do have to register: Looking beautiful for your bridal day in Aruba - Home

Let me know what other questions you have..I'm on this forum just about all day.. hahahaha.. Good thing I have a "desk" job.. :)
