Hi have been told conflicting views so I will ask those who have actually done the deed in DR... in Punta Cana DR, is there a waiting period before they can marry us (how long do we have to be at the resort? In country?)

Legal wedding vs symbolic - is there a difference in the waiting period?

Any recent brides out there with the scoophuh.gif

If your getting LEGALLY married in DR you have to be there 3 days before your wedding. If your having a symbolic (or renewal of vows) The WC likes you to be there like 24 hours just to get your plans in order.

We were going to be there 3 days before but our airline totally messed up and we were only there like a day and a half before our wedding, but they're really good about that, because that was something that was totally out of our control.

Good luck :)

Our WC said 3 days and the day you arrive doesn't count, so I guess that's technically 4 days. We're arriving Mon and getting married on Fri and she said that was perfect. But we now decided just to do our legal paperwork at home before we leave and have a symbolic ceremony in DR. Hope this helps, good luck!
