Engaged and ready for a destination wedding!

So I got engaged (yay!) recently and we want to plan a destination wedding in Punta Cana, DR. I have two friends that got married there and raved about it. They have given me inof but I'm still researching to see if there is something better or at least better looking. There are 3 hotels I'm researching, Gran Bahia Principe, Dreams, and Majestic Resort. I'm expecting about 30-40 people and would like a March 2011 wedding. I've got alot of research and am grateful to this website and friends but anything else could help too. My fiance is concerned as I am with the cost to our guests. What does an average stay of 5 or 7 days cost from the midwest like from Chicago? We've heard ranges of 800 to 1100 in the springtime.

Congrats and welcome to the forum! That price range is pretty average but you also want to consider adding in the costs of transportation to and from the resort. Good luck with all your planning!

Congratulations! There is a big range depending on when you go and which hotel, I'd recommend playing around on Expedia looking at their packages for an idea. That's how I spent last night
