I know what you mean! I almost choked when the girl at the bridal shop told me how much my veil was...seriously, it was more than half what my dress cost! But, after I put it on I knew how much I loved it. If you found a perfect match I'd go for it...you'll know when you put on the right one, it's kinda like putting on "the dress"!
