Hi everyone. We are in the researching stage of planning a wedding in Cancun in 2011. We just returned from vacation there in March and we loved it! Considering having it at the Royal in Cancun!!!!

Welcome to the forum and congratulations! I have been drooling over the Royal in Playa Car but I can't afford it. You will find great information here.

I just got back a couple weeks ago from The Royal Cancun and it was beautiful. I was scouting our wedding locations myself and while I thought this hotel was absolutely beautiful and super clean, I didn't like it for my wedding location.

 

There was a wedding while we were there and the beach wedding was right in front of the pool where all of the guests who had been drinking all day were hanging over the edge and watching - hotting at the bride as she walked by. It looked like a beautiful wedding but I personally would want a little more privacy.

 

Also, while the hotel is adults only, I did not find it that romantic as it was alot of big groups that were pretty rowdy. Since its not a big resort, there were very few places to go off and be kind of alone or more subdued.

 

Great hotel and staff though and the food was wonderful!!!

Welcome and congratulations!! our wedding will take place at their sister site, The Gran Caribe but we will be staying at the Royal....happy planning!
