thoughts on resort photographers in Punta Cana

what are your thoughts on resort photographers in punta cana, DR? we are going to be staying at majestic colonial. please let me know what your experiences are with on site photographers versus outside photographers. thanks!

I hear Arrecife Studio are very goo, i am planning to have them for my wedding day, but they work with the Melias, Paradisus and Bahia principe. Maybe you can ask them write: [email protected], i met her and i can assure you they are great.

It varies by resort, but most of the resort photographers photos I've seen look technically fine but lack that creativity & special something. It just depends on your priorities. Photos are the most important thing to me, so I'd rather get a cheaper cake, cheaper dress, etc. and hire a photographer that I love and that I've been able to choose myself.

They will give you Arrecifes contact, and yes they send you some samples too, but i think it is much better once you get into their facebook.

I would check how much it costs per photo. That's usually how resort photographers do their pricing. That way you can compare not only their quality, but also their price. It might not be such a good deal when you add it up.

If you are staying at the Majestic I strongly recommend Phil Steingard- he does AMAZING photos there.

Hi Amelie,
Is it something about the Majestic colonial's hotel/grounds that give the pictures such great shots? I'm still torn as to where to book in DR but LOVE LOVE LOVE Phil's pictures! Any idea what his costs are?

Thoughts on Photography:

The most important thing you can do is capture your wedding day on film or with it being a digital age... megapixels. We as brides will all pick our best photo and hang it on our wall. Do you want to walk by a photo that is just "ok". A friend of mine just got her wedding pics back she tried to "save money" and she's miserable about it!!! There are areas where you can cut corners I dont think the photographer is one of them!!
