Travel Agent Recommendation from a D.R. Bride

Hi everyone,

I am having a hard time getting my TA to give me rates for a wedding at Dreams Palm Beach next summer 2011. I think she just is not used to destination weddings and is not very responsive. Does anyone have a recommendation for a TA they used for their D.R. wedding that they really enjoyed working with. I only ask because I am so sick of not having a date and I feel bad when people ask us and want to blame my fiance for not setting the date - because it's not him who is causing the delay.

Do you always have to get a TA to plan the wedding? Whats does a TA have to do with setting the date? Do they have access to the hotel's available dates? I did not think about enlisting a TA. Is it necessary?

Actually supplier contracts are not yet set for summer 2011 so it's not that she doesn't want to or is inexperienced - it's that she can not as they are not available! She can provide guestimates but nothing concrete yet!

Sandals is very different in that they set their rates for almost two years in advance- so we can get Sandals/Beaches or Royal Plantation rates easily and share those!
