Hi everyone

 

My name is Nicole and my fiancé is Jim. We currently live in the Czech Republic, though are both originally from the states - him northern Michigan, me west coast of Florida. We are just in the beginning stages of planning and are thinking of have the wedding in July 2011 in Petoskey, Michigan (his home town though no one in his immediate family lives there anymore).

 

So far planning has been hell. I found this website while researching people having parent issues about their destination weddings and was hoping for advise and encouragement.

 

Thanks and I look forward to getting to know everyone.

Welcome to the forum Nicole! :)

 

Honestly, all weddings - local or otherwise - have their stresses, it's all in how you choose to take it. Planning a wedding is suppose to be fun, so just enjoy the journey! cheesy.gif

 

The beginning stages can be the most overwhelming since it seems like you have so much to do, but make a list of the big things you need to do (find a location, nail down a date etc) and it'll all flow together. And when need be, lean on us for support!!

Welcome & congrats!! The beginning planning stages have been so stressful for me. Just remember that this is YOUR & YOUR FIANCE'S wedding & you can't please everyone. You don't want to look back & regret any decision you made for someone else. Good luck!
