Couple questions about Secrets Maroma Beach

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone Im new to the forum and have a couple questios..

Origially we were planning on marrying at Secrets with our immediatte family and then having a big reception when we returned to the states. Problem is my family is just to big and the cost just keep piling up so last night we started considering the idea of just having the wedding and reception and everything at Secrets..

Question 1.. We planned on staying for atleast 7 nights, which gets you the free basic package, but would def be upgrading to one of the other packages, but do they give you a credit towards those? The basic wedding package is $799 so I figured they would credit you that amount toward the more expenaive package.

Question 2...Also I keep gettin mixed info as to the whole purpose, legalility of going through the "process" in Mexico. It seems like alot of hassle to get legally married in Mexico only for the license to not be valid in the US.. A friend of mine recently married in Jamaica and he said that they went down to City office and made there marriage legal here in the US...and then traveled to Jamaica and had a ceremony..The didnt spend a dime toward marriage licenses, blood test, and all the other redicuilous fees..??

Thanks in advance

Hi there!

We have a great thread that will help answer all of your questions-

I'm unsure about the wedding package credit - you could def ask Cecilia when you book it and see what she says. They are great about stuff like that.

As for the legal mexico thing - I would say not to go thru the hassle. Most brides either do it before or after their Mexico ceremony in the states. It's only paperwork back home really and nothing crazy like the Mexico process. Save yourself the aggravation and just do it before or after :)
