LOL! My mom isn't so subtle. She would just say "you're fat"...I would have happily taken the check and taken FI to a nice fatty expensive restaurant with it!

Oh dear. If this was a note regarding her weight and wedding dress, can you IMAGINE the comments and snarky-ness about everything else wedding related? I think I'd say "eff it" to the wedding and just elope.. WITHOUT HER.

Also terrible though of course! I mean, poor Katie, but I guess after however many years of living with a mom like that her best coping strategy might also be laughter. I was just feeling stressed about dress shopping myself, but this puts things in perspective for sure!

wooow, haha! well my future FIL promised us $5 for every pound we lost a few years back... it was NOT a motivator... we did our weight lost in our own time.
