El Dorado Royale (EDR) Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

I have a $150 gift certificate that can be used at El Dorado Spa Resorts & Hotels Azul by Karisma. This can be used for luxury resorts towards a beachfront sky massage or candlelight dinner on the beach or suite up grade or vintage wine. This expires on Dec 15, 2009 for anyone who is going in the next month. This is transferable and can be shared with a friend if you can't use it. I'm selling it for $50 if anyone is interested in saving $100 towards their stay.

Thank you

Hi Everyone!

So im new to this forum, but I am very grateful I have found it! We are having our wedding at EDR in Jan. of 2011. I am dealing w. Valerie down there and have found my wedding planner through destinationweddings.com has better luck getting a reply from her then I do. Valerie as recently told me though that the La Isla Terrace is not available for private events? is this true? We plan on having 20-30 guest. Any advice or anything that anybody thinks will help this process a little smoother I would really appreciate it. Also, we have picked the gold package and are staying in the Casita Suite, but we do get a category upgrade to an individual casita ( hopefully if Valerie was correct with that). Ok also I would like to have a DJ for our reception, anybody have any info on that? or is there a nightclub in the resort that we can go to after the reception? I am reading all the threads about the photographer situations.... I do not have anybody who is coming that is capable of the pictures I would like. But now I am nervous about choosing one of theirs. Any advice I would love to here... Thanks everyone! :) Oh and also...we had to put a $200 deposit to hold our date....?? is that right or did we get ripped off??

Hi everyone! I loved the food on the donkey bar - but not the idea of the donkey!!! :)

I have great luck with Valerie - maybe too much. She wants the room info and everything and we just secured the booking a couple weeks ago! I jsut sent the save the dates too. Oh well - I know she wants to get wrapped up soon.

Still working on my music selections - getting really excited about going though!!! Hurry up June!

  • 1 month later...

Greetings - this thread has gotten cold lately! Where are all the El dorado brides?!

I'm in June and booked the ceremony at 5pm. I picked the menu for the private reception and now debating getting a DJ. I think the cost is a bit too much and I may just use an Ipod. Where is everyone else at with the planning?

Hello everyone! Ok so i have been reading these posts like others and am also completely lost now! My wedding is march 4th 2011 (hopefully). When i first talked with my ta from destinationweddings.com she raved about this place but now i am feeling nervous after reading what everyone has had to say. I really like all the locations they offer for a ceramony because a lot of the resorts i looked at set their beach ceramonies up right in the middle of everything. I have 35-45 guests coming and i guess to get the group rate people have to pay to put a hold on the room within 30 days of me booking my wedding. I am just so lost with this resort and would love input on what people are experiencing with the resort!!

Hi Lauren! I live in Chicago too! I work near O'hare and live in buffalo grove.

Anyway - I think you should still book with el dorado royale. I used a local travel agent and negotiated a bunch of stuff and a lower room rate. Because i work with my local lady, people call her and pay their airfare up front along with $100 for the wedding. Then 2 months before they owe the rest of the money. The down side is that I signed a contract for 15 rooms so at the end of the day I am responcible for $18K and people better book!!!

I really love the resort though and keep finding photos online of weddings there and fall in love again. i think their website is not so hot but this site has helped me plan. We are June 5 and have a ceremony at Gazebo 55 and private reception/dinner at the tucanes palapa.... Overall i saved alot of money and did some extras like a classical guitarist for the ceremony.....

Let's talk soon or go for lunch!!! - Jennifer

Ladies, I recently had my wedding at EDR, and it was FABULOUS!!! The food, the service, the locations, everything was great! My guests loved the resort and were so happy we had our wedding there. We had our ceremony at the Presidential Gazebo, with a cocktail party at the Fuentes gazebo and a private supper/reception at Tuscanes. Hopefully I will get my review done soon with some pictures
