El Dorado Royale (EDR) Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Yes, right before we left, Valeria put on Mandy's spreadsheet the $5 per person setup charge to bring the candles, placecards, etc. I just emailed her back with her quote where she advised that we bring these items ourselves and that took care of it. Future brides just need to be aware that the days of bringing your own stuff with no charge is probably over.

Another item we really should reiterate over and over - MEN MUST HAVE CLOSED-TOED SHOES for the nicer restaurants (El Cocotal, D'Italia, Fuentes, Kampai). Nice leather sandals (even ones that cover the toes) are NOT ALLOWED. They must be real shoes. They are very strict about this policy, so you should let everyone in your party know about it. I've even heard about them turning away grooms from their wedding dinner if they didn't have the proper shoes. One of our men only had the nice leather sandals, but luckily all of our party hadn't traveled to Mexico yet, and they were able to bring a pair for him. He just went to La Isla, JoJo's, and La Fondue until his shoes arrived. What bothered me is they let women in with flip flops (not beachy ones, but nice ones) and turned the men away.

I have a question about this $5 per person set up fee for bringing your own decorations. So does that mean for every menu I set out they will charge $5 for each menu I set outhuh.gif Also, I was going to bring little votives I decorated......does that mean I pay $5 for each votive to be set out toohuh.gif My cheap little votives are looking really expensive at this point! That could add up REALLY fast! Let me know how they handled that.......Thanks!!

It's $5 per person to set stuff up. That can include menus only (which they will provide if you don't), or in can be menus, votives, table runners, place cards, decorations, candles, etc, etc, etc. It's $5 per person, period. So, I guess if you're going to pay, go all out!

I had no idea that they tried to charge us before we left. Thanks for taking care of that, Mom!

Thank you for posting the symbolic ceremony script! Do you recall when on the process the document signing took place? I'm trying to figure out if that would be a good place for my niece to sing.lalala.gif

That would probably be your best time. They just asked us for an additional song for the signing. It was closer to the end

Thanks! And you don't have to have it all planned before you go dress shopping! In fact, you don't have to have any of it planned!

I don't know about the minimum night stay-- but you can have up to 3 people in a room-- but the price is the same as if you had 2.

For us and the time period we were there-- it was $180 per person per night in the least expensive room--- and that is if there were either 2 or 3 of you.

If one person stayed in a room by themself- they had to pay $247 per night.....

The reason it isn't cheaper to have 3 people in a room vs 2 is bc it is all-inclusive so all of the person's food and drinks are included. but it is def cheaper (if the people aren't married or are paying separately) to have at least 2 in a room... :)
