El Dorado Royale (EDR) Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

So I'm about to put my deposit down for El Dorado Royale :) Now do most people use travel agents when booking their stays? I just want to make sure my family and friends receive decent deals when booking rooms. What is the best way that you have found to do this?

Yes!!!! Not sure if you are American or Canadian but Canadians book with a TA and it's with an operator that coordinates a hotel/flight combo and Americans book separate but use someone like Wright travel whom are top GI certified agents with Karisma and can negotiate great rates and promotions for you!!!

@@kfracassi - yes absolutely get a travel agent. Pick a GIVC Karisma travel agent to maximize the perks you get for your group. @@kmk2016 says, if you are in the US, Wright Travel is a solid partner for your destination wedding. You can contact them through the link in my signature. Tell them Allie sent you!

@@kfracassi Congratulations!  I'm also a Chicago bride, I'm getting married at the Generations Riviera Maya (which is connected to the EDR) on April 25.

I'd also recommend checking out Legacy Travel - my travel agent is Nicki Squittieri, and she's been amazing to work with!  I wish I had called more than one destination wedding travel agency before committing to one, you can often get deals and perks directly from the agency or negotiate for some things based on the details you get from them.  They have a local office, as does Wright Travel, but you end up working with your travel agency so much more than you'd think, and you want the peace of mind that you're getting the best service (and deals) possible!

Thank you @@AllieH and @@kmk2016 . I just emailed Wright Travel Agency because I am from Chicago. Should I hold off placing the deposit then until I hear from the travel agency?

@@ChiTiff, I was actually planning on Generations because my fiancees brother was going to bring his two kids, but now we have only adults going, so we were able to decide on EDR. I have the money for the deposit, but I'm waiting until I hear from a travel agency now. I just hope I don't lose my date.

@@kfracassi You can always put down your deposit with the resort for the date if you're worried about losing it, and find a travel agent later. :)  One of them will be able to help you.  I lost my preferred location (I originally wanted to get married at the pier, now we're doing it at the SkyDeck) because I waited just a couple hours too long, so get your date booked at the hotel!  Good luck!

If you don't hear back from wright tomorrow , submit your date but let them know you will be working with wright travel. That way it's tagged under them and you are privy to any bonuses!

Hi ladies,

Did anyone use the Coast Bliss decoration package? I am going to go with the Costal Bliss decor for the reception tables but I am not sure if the price is worth it for the ceremony decoration since its only 20 minutes. I am trying to come up with alternative ideas for ceremony decoration. We are getting married at the White Gazebo on the EDR side. Let me know if you have any thoughts. Thank you!

I am researching photographers, and I was originally going to go with Samuel Luna, unfortunately, he is no longer doing end of the year weddings :(. So he recommended Playa Weddings. I am also researching Sarani because I know many of you have raved about her. The prices are so expensive though. How long does everyone book photographers. 6hrs? 9hrs? I'm not sure how much time is necessary. I have no problem splurging on pictures since we will be in Mexico, obviously, and we will be saving money in other areas...
