El Dorado Royale (EDR) Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

hey Gail,

We took the suitcases we brought it in to the meeting, and left them with the WC. and we called the bellman to come get us from our room. while the shuttles (golf carts) do run periodically, if we needed to go somewhere specific and within a time frame, we just called the bellmen and asked for a pick up. give yourself extra time, and call maybe 20-30 minutes before you head up to the lobby. be sure to tip them and they are happy to do it. My girls overtipped one of the guys and had personal service anywhere they wanted to go...every time. It was hilarious!

Just some plastic bags or like the reusable shopping bags? I'm worried about having a TON of stuff to lug to the meeting and getting it there!!

Thanks for the help ladies!!

Thanks you guys!!

I was planning to wrap and label everything in one suitcase and pull out what I need for the OOT bags when we arrive Friday and then deliver the suitcase to them on Saturday. Glad that's been done in the past. Didn't want to seem like an over-doer smile120.gif

I can't believe it's getting so close, now if I can only stay well and get these last things done that I keep putting off hoping that the wedding fairy will come take care of for me :)

Oh, did anyone have guests come to Mexico but stay at other resorts? My WC put the $72/pp fee for the day pass on my spreadsheet, but I have asked her to remove it as I have asked them to pay that themselves. Is that wrong? I mean I sent out all the info about the wedding, etc. If they chose to stay somewhere else but want to attend the wedding shouldn't that be their responsibility to pay? I think I'm paying for enough, but don't want to seem like a big meanie!!!

Murmel, do you have a picture on here somewhere of your bags? I'd love to see them!!

an over-doer? no such thing!!! it's all 100% necessary.....

We did not offer to pay for day passes for our guests who stayed off resort for the same reasons you're considering.

We hosted a private event though, so there was no cost for those guests on the day of our wedding (other than the event/dinners, which we did pay for of course). Our WC did say they could pay for the passes at the front desk when they arrived if they were coming to the resort on another day. I'd keep pushing on that...

Yeah, I just emailed her again. She said $72/pp day of wedding and $99/pp any other day for an 8 hour pass, but if I'm paying for them to eat and drink at my private reception why do they have to pay to sit in a chair on the property?

Guess we will see what she says!

Thanks Allie!

they shouldn't have to pay the $72 if you are hosting a private dinner event. you may have to pay if you are only hosting a cocktail. at least this has been Lomas'/Karisma's policy in the past. ask again! the guests can only come on property about an hour before the ceremony though. I think if you want them to come over for the entire day, they may have to pay the $72.

I agree with Allie-  if you are hosting a private event with your wedding (cocktail or dinner) your guests should not have to pay. But like Allie said, I believe they are only allowed to come onto the property an hour before the wedding, and then leave once the private event (ie. dinner) is complete.

Aside from that, I don't think you're a meanie. If there is a fee, they can be responsible for it.

Here is a photo of the bags I made. Black for guests, green for the kids, and blue for my bridesmaids. Each had the logo tag sewn inside.

We had it a donkey coctail hour at the Health Bar. It was a great location for it. Originally our cocktail hour was to be at Gazebo 555 right after our ceremony because the donkey was my husbands "ride" up the aisle! By the weather was looking like rain, so we moved it into the covered Health Bar. Here's a pic, donkey is on the right:
