El Dorado Royale (EDR) Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

HELLO! This is my first post here. My fiance and I are getting married on 2/4/2012 at EDR. I wanted to see if anyone on here has had a February Wedding to get a feel for what the temp. will be like, the wind on the beach, etc. We are having our reception for 80 guests at Tucanes. If anyone has any advice it's much appreciated! THANK YOU! - SARAH

I think the quote I got from DJ Doremixx was $1700 for 4 hours of service. The "approved" DJs were all $2000 for 4 hours. My cousin chose an approved vendor at EDR and they messed up everyone's introduction song at the reception (the bride and groom has carefully selected songs that coincided with each of their friend's, so it was upsetting that the DJ messed it up), and she said he didn't speak a word of English which made it hard to request songs at the reception.

Hola!

Can you let me know who send you that quotation, and what was included, because that is not our price for the regular DJ service.

Best! :)

Hi Sarahjs!

Congrats on your wedding! It's coming up quick!!  I was married last Dec at EDR, and we had our reception at Tucanes! Great choice! It is a secluded beautiful location with a pool and palapa, but it can get pretty windy there(our candles kept blowing out!).  I also vacationed in the Mayan in Feb in 2009, so I can tell you we did get a fair amount of rain and clouds with some sunny days too. Just pray for sun and have a back up rain plan! It rained on my wedding day, but it cleared up just in time for my 3pm ceremony!!

My tip would be to make a list for every guest with all your guests names and a space to fill in room numbers.  That way everyone can write down room numbers at check in to contact each other b/c EDR is a big resort and your guests will end up staying in rooms all over the resort. We all wrote room numbers on napkins and scraps of paper and a few times ppl missed dinners b/c we couldn't contact them!!  Or bring walkie talkies!! That was my husbands regret! Lol!!

Happy Planning!

Hi angi111111,

How was the food at the BBQ dinner reception? We're trying to decide between doing the surf 'n turf on the pick and choose menu and the BBQ.

If any other brides have opted for the menu instead of the BBQ, your reviews are also welcome!

Thank you!

And budget wise, it fits!!

We are also having the BBQ for our Wedding Dinner & reception! I've been working on the details with Carolina this week...It's much harder than I thought!

Our location is at Gazebo Fuentes ~ We visited last November and I really don't remember how that location looked... But I'm sure it's great!

We decided to do a Welcome Dinner instead of Rehersal Dinner...it will be at La Isla. Carolina sent the menues and we choose what we wanted ~ an App. a soup or salad, two courses, and dessert!

I emailed her my flower choices and ceremony decor for Gazebo 55 :)

so far so good with the plans!! getting very excited!

24 guests are booked!
