El Dorado Royale (EDR) Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

We are getting married November 2015 and it is creeping up much more quickly than I had anticipated. Not much planning done as of yet. We are having our ceremony (around 40 guests) at Gazebo 55. Is the gazebo completely bare? My WC sent me a link that states it has two sheers and flowers, but this is contradictory to EVERYTHING else I have heard. I am just trying to figure out the bare necessities of what I need to decorate. Thanks in advance!!

Has anyone has experience with guest seating and table numbers? I saw some cute sand dollars with name and table numbers on them but wasn't sure how portable that was since I'm flying from the Philadelphia area. I figured just cardstock? Anyone have any ideas?

Hi @@nmy1216, I am having my wedding at the EDR on 5/16 and am going to use starfish for the escort cards. I am in the Philadelphia area and just found them for really cheap at The Christmas Tree shop. They hand sand dollars too. I am going to back them in bubble wrap when you fly down.

hi @@EriLu11 - typically the gazebo is bare.

we did have the poles wrapped, but opted against sheers and flowers. below is a photo of our wedding at Gazebo 55. did you by chance buy a package that includes the flowers & sheers? and keep in mind that things change over time too - so anything is possible!

as for escort cards, I did card stock. you could also do the starfish or sand dollars, or a thing of bubbles, glasses, koozies - whatever your favor is. just tie a card stock "tag" to it with the table numbers. we put our numbers in the cheap IKEA white plastic frames, and they looked just fine! here are some photos of the table numbers and the escort cards.

  • 2 weeks later...

I am having a hard time finding prices for the spa packages.  Does anyone know how much the massages are? I want to treat my sisters to something nice while we are there.

Also, what are the prices for hair and makeup?  Previous posts seem to vary.  Anything more recent?

Finally, we are going to a bridal rehearsal in October.  Has anyone done this yet?  Is it worth it?

Hi all!

Less than 2 months til our big day and I'm trying to work out all the details now. I added all the must-haves to the spreadsheet and came up a little over budget so I'm trying to cut some costs. I know there's a lot I can DIY to save a good amount of money. Tbh, I'm not very creative/artistic/crafty so I've been relying on my friends to help me come up with the overall vision of my wedding day. I've been lurking on this forum for inspiration as well so thank you all for sharing!

My ceremony location is going to be at Gazebo 55. According to the Memorable Moments package, they use 8 gazebo linens to decorate the gazebo. At $100 apiece for white ones, that comes out to $800. I know I can definitely bring my own for much less, even if I had to pay $5 pp set up fee. Did anybody bring their own sheers and if so, what length and width, and how many sheers did you use to decorate?

Also based on recommendation of keeping things simple, I was thinking about getting rid of the chair covers and bows. I hope it won't look too bare without the extra decorations! I have small noisemakers for everybody to use after we are pronounced husband and wife (in lieu of throwing rice or blowing bubbles). Instead of printing programs for everybody, I want to set up an iPad for everyone to view before getting seated (I know this isn't traditional but would it offend anybody if they didn't get a physical copy?)

Any other suggestions for reducing waste and saving money on the ceremony but still keep it classy?

Thanks!
