El Dorado Royale (EDR) Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

We are getting married in November as well.  We are doing welcome bags as favors.  So far here is what I ordered for them:

Team Bride and Team Groom Bags (1 per room) from vista print

Spanish for Dummies (1 per room) from Amazon

Coil Keychain with Room Key Holder (1 per person) from Ebay and Etsy

Hangover kits ( 1per person) Includes gum, mints, tums, gatorade packet, advil

To have and to hold and to keep your drink cold koozie (1 per person) from oriental trader

Crossword puzzle book with pen (1 per room)

I am also going to include some pamphlets when we get to the resort and a welcome letter.  I am going to mail a schedule of events to all the guests 2 weeks prior to vacation time and include another copy.

I am torn on doing water bottles for each guest.  I know a lot of people on this site raved about them.  Thoughts?

@@AllieH Thank you for the tips! I am thinking we'll have more luck making things ahead of time, so thank you for the link to your ornaments - very cute! We'll probably do something along those lines.

@@HancockBride We are getting married on 11/15/14...coming right up! What is your date? We also plan to do welcome bags, I am still debating the wedding favor/ornament too. I'll let ya know when we figure it out  ;)

@@NickiLynn1116 Thanks for the info on your welcome bags - I love it! We were thinking about similar items, although I love the crossword puzzle idea! I might need to borrow it  :) As far as the water bottles go, if you aren't set on them, I would say skip it. I was at EDR last summer, not sure if you have ever been, and they will stock your mini fridge daily with water bottles. We asked for extra almost every day, too :) everyone there is fantastic! Anyway, back to the point, we would take the bottles with us to the beach/pool/for walks and would toss it away when we were done. If you have koozie's already your guests will have that to take home and remember the trip with - but thats just my opinion!

Hola novias!

Okay this might be a stupid question, but any brides know if Southwest airlines has a closet for my wedding dress at the front of the plane?  :P  We are booking air next week with them for the wedding. I just bought a second dress for the reception this weekend, and there is no way I am checking them and prefer not to put them in an overhead bin either.

@@amanda50388 - thanks for the answer to the sweetheart table question

I've flow SW quite a bit, and their planes do not have a closet. You're going to have to put them in the overhead bin. I would suggest rolling it up in the garment bag and putting it into a wheeled carry on for the most protection while traveling. Don't worry - EDR will steam it for you before the ceremony, and the cost is around $15 - $20. They do a fantastic job. Just remove anything that is removable (corset laces, straps, belts, etc) before you send it off to the laundry. They will return it to your room wrapped in sheets and hang it on the curtain rod, so it'll be safe from peeking eyes prior to your big day.

Hey ladies! I'm wondering if anyone has photos or can describe the base table set up for receptions. I'm leaning towards customizing my own package instead of going the Memorable Moments route, but it would be helpful to know what we're starting with. White table cloth, white chair covers...? Or literally nothing? Thank you! :)

hi @@lauralane - the standard set up is white table clothes & napkins. no table runners, chair sashes/covers, etc. are included.

HTH!

@@lauralane - the basic set up doesn't include chair covers at all. They are just basic white chairs. chair covers and/or sashes are extra.

here's my set up:

we added the orange chair sash (and table runners too) that we brought from home. But this gives you an idea of what their standard chairs look like, and the white linens.

Thanks Allie! Probably obvious, but just basic white chair covers, too?

Hello all,

my fiancee and I have been hard set on a destination wedding in mexico since we started talking about engagement 2 or so years ago. Well, we are now engaged and finally beginning to plan. Originally, we wanted a wedding without kids, but then it seemed like everyone wanted kids there so we were planning on Azul Beach. Well, now we are back to no kids... unfortunately I have not seen a lot of what El Dorado has to offer. I will begin searching this thread, but I was wondering what are the best places for receptions?

Thanks guys.

Kristen :)
