Hi Ladies,

Congrats on your marriage and picking an amazing resort. You are going to love it.

I just got married at the Gran Bahia Principe in Punta Cana. It was such an amazing experience. Everything i mean EVERYTHING was perfect. We had 37 people and we had booked through Sunquest, which gave our whole entire group a free upgrade to the club diamond suites at the resort, we were so lucky, we had access to our own resturant and our own pool (club diamond only). The wedding coordinator was amazing and so wonderful to work with, i was somewhat of a bride zilla and she tended to my every need. Our ceremony was at 2pm on a Monday with pictures to follow and then we decided to surprise our guests with a dinner and cocktail reception aboard the Punta Cana wedding Boat called" La Barcaza". If i can recommend anything it wouldbe this boat...the crew were absolutley amazing and my guests are still talking about how much fun they had, and how they have never been to a wedding this different and fun before in there lives. We did the sunset cruise with dinner, cocktails, pictures and dancing on board La Barcaza and they also took us to a natural swimming hole were myself and all the guests jumped inthe water for a quick dip and drinks. This was the most amazing experience and my guests enjoyed every minute of it. The resort allowed us to take our cake and bring it on board with us with. Regarding photos we decided to go with HDC photo. They did an amazing job highy highly reccommend. There pricing is way cheaper then the resort and they actually do better pictures, the only downfall is that you have to pay for them to come onto the resort and they do not have access to all the areas that the resort photographer would...but the price difference is quit significant, i think there cheapest resort package was 2000 and we paid 1000 with HDC photo and had the ceremony covered, a beach photo session, the reception (on the boat) and pre wedding was all covered. Plus we recieve a DVD with music that can be played at our at reception and a cd that we can print whichever pictures we like. They did a great job. 5 stars in our book. Hope this helps all you Gran Bahia Principe Brides. It was the best week/day of our lives. Happy Planning.

Our date is now April 13th, 2011 at 4pm, had to change it once we booked our travel as our moncton and halifax departures were on different days... and everyone needed to be there for the wedding, so after some phone calls and convincing, the WC changed my date!!! SO EXCITED, feels more real now.. We also booked with Sunquest on the Bavaro side, love hearing great things about it, keep em coming.

Hi! I'm getting married there on May 21, 2011. Any advice on reception location? RIght now we're thinking private reception at Garden Grill. WE also want a "welcome" cocktail hour the evening before. The wedding coordinator says Las Olas is the most popular location. Hard to make these decisions since I've never been there!!!!!
