We will actually meet marvin at the lobby, i was told as long as they dont have to set up anything for me, there is no vendor fee........I am just getting rose petals, my Bouquet, BMs Bouquets and Bout for FI........

Do you mind if I ask how much it ended up running you from the outrside florist compared to using the hotels? DId you not have any other flower arrangements, or did you use the hotels for the others? (ie chapel flowers or reception centerpieces, if used)

Hi Ladies!!

I'm getting ready to book our wedding for Nov this year ... if all goes as planned in the next few days.

Ive just finished reading all the past posts for this thread and I'm so glad I'm joining now at a time of good vibe!!

Thank you Cassie for the reassuring review on Flora! I hope it wasn't just a good day for her... I hope she is great for everyone from now on. Maybe she has a better idea of what she is doing by now so that she can be a better WC. Who knows if she was just inexperienced... ya know?

I'm so excited to join this thread and be a GCR future bride! There really is no way I would consider a DW without the guidance and support I have witness on this site! What a life saver!!

Congrats Shay, I can say from the last 10months of the whole planning process it goes by so fast so enjoy every minute...

 

I cant believe that we leave next Friday for the Royal... I have been working with Flora as she is the WC for most of the weddings but her father passed away so she is out till next week...Hope things go smoothly once we arrive! Im still nervous but what can ya do..I will post pics as soon as I return but we are going on a 2 wk Hawaiian cruise afterwards so I wont be back till the end of April...stay tuned! Its been a blast being on this site and getting sooo much planning ideas and advice...I definitely wouldnt have been able to survive the last 10 months without ya all!

You should call her.  I had issues with basecamp to.  Elsa kept telling me I wasn't checking the right box to send an email notification to her email that I posted a message.  Otherwise email right to her email address and skip basecamp.

Hey girls I just wanted to check in with you all and let you know our wedding was AMAZING!! Ours was on Wednesday and we had Flora. You have nothing to worry about, she was a delight and she made sure everything was exactly how I wanted. My wedding was seriously a dream come true! The only issue that we had was pertaining to the photograher and the outside vender issue. Elsa told me originally that we could avoid the outside vendor fee if we booked them a room. So we booked them a room at the gran caribe and we were at the royal. Well 15 mins before flora comes to my room and says the photographer can not come to my room and take pics unless we pay the outside vendor fee...I was a lil annoyed but we just nded up meeting her at the gran caribe and took our pics there instead of the royal. In the end it wast really a big dea and we avoided paying the 350 fee... the rest of the day was perfect. Ivan was our dj and he was super awesome. He even surprised us with fireworks during our 1st dance that we didn't pay for. I could go on and on but ill save it for the review. Were going on a 2wk hawaiian cruise now so ill post pics ad more details as soon as I return on th 23erd. Message me with any questions and id be hapy to help anyone who is worried like I was. But seriously the absolute best time of our lives... you will love every minute of it! Can't wait to post r pics

I was married at the Gran Caribe Real in July of 2010. I was frusterated at 1st because the communication between myself and our cooridinator Larena Arvide wasnt up to par. Of course, getting married in a foreign country can be stressful and i would have liked to have quicker responses and more detail when speaking with her.

That is my only complaint.... we did the Gazebo wedding at sunset, with the eternal romance package. We upgraded photography and had a private reception on a nearby terrace. It was by far the best wedding i have ever attended and the best day of my life. I had not 1 stress. I  went to the spa in the morning and had a pedicure and my hair and make up done and went back to my room to finish getting ready with my bridesmaids. All of my guests went to the Gazebo at start time (6 i think) and someone from the resort came and got me and my dad and walked us down to the gazebo just as it was our turn to walk down the aisle. We didnt have to wait around like the rest of the bridal party- it was perfect! The reception was phenomenal. The food was amazing the waitstaff was excellent and there was a full bar set up for us. I brought an ipod with the songs i wants and they played that and had a small dance floor. I had 30 total guests. I would not change 1 thing about my experience. It was awesome and i cant wait to go back! I would suggest it to anyone!!!

Also, Our photographer was GREAT! The pictures turned out perfect and were ready for us the next day!!!!
