I completely understand.  Its hard to say no to FI's parents who are being generous especially if its in celebration of your marriage.  Good luck.

Keep strong! My mother was doing the same thing with inviting people I don't even know to our AHR. I finally told her, "it's not about you or a family reunion, it's about us being with close family and friends that we see all the time"! She finally got it and cut her list from 80 people to 30. So just stand your ground. )
