Please let me know if you have any issues with safety. We are getting concerned and do not know what to do.  We may be changing our location due to more and more warnings coming from family friends that live in Mexico.

We didn't have any safety issues.  Us and our guests left the resort a few times to go scuba diving and to Xel-Ha/Coba and took tour buses everytime.  They are great and really take care of their passengers.  I would say for the Mayan area and Cancun airport, nothing has changed with safety or using US$ since I was there in 2008.
