hey all,

glad to hear the planning is going well for everyone! i still have no confirmed wedding date...apparently thomsons are still waiting for the resort to confirm the minister for the ceremony. ahhhhhhhhhh

think i have found the bridesmaid dresses, they are from coast and lovely!

 

your hen night planning sounds fun! i haven't even thought of that part yet!x

When are you due to get married?  I am still waiting on Thomsons - they are saying the same thing to me about the date we are waiting on the hotel - arrrrgggghhhh its really annoying me.  I have emailed the hotel direct and got the WC out of office office reply. 

 

Re - Hen Do - Michelle I know in Ashford there was Ikon which is affectionally known as PYKON - enough said.  The other main club is Liquid which is the same as the one in Maidstone - lol!  But its what you make you.

Cant believe Thomsons are taking so long to reply to you ladies..... I know you prob have but have you phoned the wedding dept yourselves? I booked through Thomas Cook, but are flying with Thomsons and the wedding is a Thomsons wedding and TC told me when i booked it would be 2 weeks then we should find out date, then it was another 2 weeks.. then they said they lost paperwork, then it was another 2 weeks, (conveniently she always had been on phone to wedding dept the morning id phoned or popped in...) Hmmmmm, anyway i got fed up of the fibs (i knew they werent bothered now they had the booking) so i called the wedding dept and low and behold.... "yes Miss Bates, we can confirm your date & time, it was confirmed about a week and a half ago" Funnily enough id been on to TC on the Wed (after date/time etc was confirmed) and TC said to me "Oh ive spoken to them this morn, no conformation yet"
So anyway i never went back to TC as they had P'd me off big time....

I was happy it was all confirmed, just had to wait on wedding package coming through.

When it came (2 weeks later) and i went to pick it up from TC and she was like "Whoo, its all comfirmed" I was like "I know, have done for a few weeks!!! just been waiting on this, and to think alll the times you'd phoned and were told it wasnt confirmed"
She just ummm'd and argh'd and smiled and said "well its all booked"

BAH!!!!

 

 

Anyway sorry for the babble, I do go on sometimes.... But anyway may be worth a try to get in touch with them directly if you havent already? Maybe it is just a slow response from your ministers/judges? :-) xox

We fly out on 6th May next year and are hoping for 12th May for our wedding date. If we don't get that date our wedding will probably end up being in the second week instead of the first and we'd rather have it in the first so fingers crossed!!x

I know that our wedding has to be in the 2nd week as we have to be there 5 days excluding our day of arrival and the weekends - so the earliest we can get married is 24th Jan.  But it doesnt worry me when we have the wedding day ie; first or second week.  I do know though that the hotel I have chosen is particularly slow at getting back to people with regards to the date.

 

Thomson and the hotel told us we would have the date confirmed the beginning of August well its the 10th and its still not confirmed - the wedding department say they have chased the hotel everyday since 1st Aug with no reply - I emailed the hotel direct and got the out of office advising the WC was away until 15th Aug - so fingers crossed next week it will be confirmed but FI is heading into Thomson tomorrow as one of FIs mates gf works in there and has been helping us.  Apparently the hotel is waiting on the minister coming back to them.

 

I'm not too stressed at this stage but come the end of August I will be going mad at them.

Like you Lyndsey we wanted the first week. We fly out on Sun 1st and get married on Fri 6th :-) We only needed to be in the country for 3 days to get married at our resort. so thats not too bad. Like you say Josie i dont think it really does matter what week you get married but i think its personal preference or depending how many days you have to be there :-) THE MAIN THIS IS WERE GETTING MARRIED!!! WHOO WHOO :-) XOX

 

If you requested your dates pretty close to them being released im sure you'll have no worries in getting them securred!!!

I am off to do a wee bit of shopping today, maybe look for some bridal jewellery, more likely just to take advantage of the sales.... i´m sure it´s stuff i´ll be wearing in mexico!

 

i´ve got a notification from the post office saying i´ve got a(nother) parcel to collect, and i can´t think for the life of me what it can be. my invites went into the post from the usa on sunday, Mia´s dress was only ordered monday, and i ordered vista print stuff on the 6th, so maybe it´s that, although that´d be pretty fast delivery! or maybe i´ve ordered so much stuff recently i´ve just forgotten!

well girls after a lovely day with FI yesterday we had ANOTHER row over MIL from HELL....not good ( very tired and teary today. But on a plus side (if there is one) i think, think i am getting through to him. I think he's realising how upset i am over it all and how i need him to back my corner. We have got to keep MIL at arms length otherwise she WILL come between us. So it's just down to him now. He's got to stop that happening. sad face.....x
