Ohhh how annoying is a 30th birthday right in the middle of planning haha! What have you got him?? I'm still trying to figure out what to get him as a gift. Luckily his parents are helping with the cost of the party and my friend's aunt works at a hall so got that for £100 bargain!

How did you find confetti and lace? I heard their really rude. I was in Lakeside one evening about 7.30 and decided to go look there was a sign on the door "we operate by appointments buzz if you want to come in and if we arent busy we will see you" i looked in and their all sitting on the sofa... smile120.gif strange shop you'd think they'd let you look even if you cant try on!

I got mine from an ebay seller gianinarbridal the quality of the dress was sooooo much better than some dresses i'd tried on by designers. My dress was about £150 all in with shipping etc and I love it! I might even get a second dress nearer the time for my TTD

So how old is everyone and what do you all do for a living?

Ha ha yes how rude are they having a "big" birthday in the middle of planning. lol... I've got Dan a watch and a new golf bag from the kids...yes i know it's boring but he is a golf geek and i know he will love it!!

I'm not doing a TTD but i love seeing the photos of Brides that do.... I to am saving my dress of our AHR!

Confetti & Lace were nice. I had a girl assistant called Megan and she was lovely. Offered us champagne/coffee etc.... I did have an appointment but i also popped in there one day and the door was open and we just wondered around. Strange they were like that when you went. I found them OK. The shop i got my dress in Eltham was lovely though. Very small but the lady helping us was lovely. It was the owners daughter and she was very friendly! Felt we got the personal touch in there. Plus i was like a woman gone mad in my dress and had it on for about an hour, lol.. she didn't rush me to take it off ha ha....

I am 32 nearly 33! I work from home doing payroll and invoicing. very boring but it beats paying childcare!

I'm not doing a TTD i think its a lovely idea and love looking at the pics thats others brides have put on the forum but its just not me. I also think my other half would think it was a ridiculous idea as well. He has let me do everything my way as well so i dont want to push it!!! :-) if you really want to do one why not buy a really cheap one from ebay or one of the knock off sites and use that instead. I also am wearing my dress at my AHR.

With regards to age and job..........I'm 32 this year (August) and work as a customer services manager for a kitchen contractor who fit kitchens in top end new build properties and the odd famous persons house! A bit dull but pays the bills.

On a seperate note me, my mum, her sister and one of my BM are heading to Oxford Street on Thursday to get my mum and my aunt their 'wedding outfits' - they want to get the whole 'shabang' on Thursday from top to toe! Me and BM are going along as the new Trinny and Susanna - really looking forward to it (oh and the drinks at lunchtime)!

i can't believe how quickly the wedding is coming around! 8 weeks to go!!

I am doing OOT bags. i got the bags from IslePac Gift Packaging | Quality Organza Bags - Jute Bags and Gift Boxes just gold organza bags. I am making a mini hangover kit (paracetomol, berroca, and a recipe for a banana smoothie) and then i've also got invites to the stag and hen night, a wedding day itinerary, a map of the resort, a welcome letter, and some colouring books and crayons for the kids. i am also going to get some insect repellent and i've made mini bottles of aloe vera with our wedding logo on them! they're so cute!

i've got favours, i just bought them from cancer research and they are like little cards saying 'a donation has been made in your name to cancer research for Louise & Andy's wedding 30-7-2010' which is nice. i've also made fans for the ceremony (with an order of service and details of the wedding party on it) and i've made goodie bags for the kids at the table to keep them amused!

i really want to buy some parasols, incase it's really really hot. but i can't find any cheap enough! any ideas?!

I have to have my dress fittings soon! YAY! it'll need to be taken in 3 dress sizes! :)

8 weeks.. Fab.. im so so jealous, You have tons of great ideas for your OOT bags 2, And the cancer research cards are a lovely little touch and also great for a worthy cause :-)

I love the parasols.... i was looking at a girls pix on the riu palace thread and she has one with just married on, i think its really cute.

AND A MASSIVE WELL DONE ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS, WHat have you been doing? xox

As it was a promotion weekend i got 15% off too which was a bonus but it was really expensive and compared to some of the bargains the girls have got on this forum i was ripped off, ha ha. But i am over the moon with it. I love it!
Michelle, the main thing is you love the dress and you did the right thing for you at the time... as long as your happy and by the sounds of it you are, and you know you'll feel a millions dollars on your big day x

How inconsiderate of your men to be 30 in the year leading up to your wedding!!! :-) I took my FI away for his 30th in October and proposed to him ......... as he keeps reminding me.

Keep forgetting myself tonight............... hen party planning tomorrow evening with one of my BMs - cant wait! What are the rest of you doing for your hens?
