Well I got my oot bags done am just waiting for the disposable wedding cameras to arrive to finish them so has made me feel a bit more done!!  I nicked a great idea from another site can't remember where.....I had postcards made up ages ago from Vista print & have been sending them out to my guests with little updates....like my website address & when the balance has to be paid but have loads left over so I have self addressed & stamped 16 of them & put them in each families oot bag, instead of taking  a guest book with me I am going to ask my guests to all write us a postcard & send it to us when they get home.  I loved the idea & will be excited each time one comes through the post!!

I have done Zumba a few times and its great loads of fun definatly worth it just for a laugh

 

My something blue arrived yesterday, my garter with Mrs McGilloway personalised on it, its so cute i love it had my orders though that i am not able to open it until the big day

 

I am on the hunt for ivory satin shoes for my bridesmaids but dont want to pay alot for them have any of you ladies seen any about that are a bargain???

I also had a weigh in yesterday i lost 2lb and recieved my half stone award i have got 6lb to lose to reach club 10 so sticking at it i have my first dress fitting in November so want to have reached it by then even if its just a pound a week

 

As many of you ladies are aware i am a bride to be that has a hellish MIL who we haven't been talkin to since xmas 2009 and SIL, anyway FI made the decision to try and rectify things with both of them on Sunday for the benefit of the children as i suppose its them who lose out, my eldest is also missing his cousin (our niece) and keeps asking about her so it was getting quite difficult. When FI phoned her and they talked about things the first thing she replied was "Don't be asking me to babysit etc etc" which i thought was appalling as i can totally ensure we won't be asking her to do ANYTHING for us at any point!!! i would have thought she might have been grateful that FI has decided to give her a chance to see the children but clearly not! anyway to cut a long story short she called FI today asking him to go round and do a job for her to which i think is a god damn cheek they have only been talking-ish for 2 days and she was adament she won't be doing us any favours the woman totally gets on my nerves!!!!! and that is an understatement i have decided i will be keeping her at arms length from here on in and she will not be interferring in any of my wedding plans!

 

SIL on the other hand sent FI a text yesterday saying basically that we only decided to talk to her again because of our wedding and that she wont be coming coz she has committed to other things to which we replied fair enough, i dont think she got the response she was expecting as she has been on today saying she will see what she can do etc with regards looking at coming with us (i really wanted my niece as a flower girl so secretly i am gutted if they don't come, my niece is only 5 and was so excited at the thought of being a bridesmaid) think SIL suddenly realised that we were not waiting on her response so we can book and sort things out as FI told her its already booked and nearly paid for and everything else regarding the wedding is in place and going ahead weather they are there or not!!!!

 

Anyway since then all is quiet on the western front so will see what happens from here on in

Vicki I can totally relate to the MIL from hell, you have all my sympathy I know how difficult they can make things, just keep your head up.  My MIL latest thing is calling OH up and telling him that she has been looking at flights from St Lucia to Mexico (she lives in St Lucia) and they don't do any direct flights so it will be difficult for her to get to the wedding and cost her a fortune in flights.  She asked him if we are absolutely dead set on Mexico or are we still looking at other options what with us not even having decided on a hotel yet!!...he told her that Mexico is a definite and we should have the hotel confirmed by December...she said well i'll see what i can do but it doesn't look hopeful...he came of the phone and he looked so upset at the thought that she might not be able to come...I swear I'm going to freak out if i have to change the location...he won't ask me to because he knows I want Mexico but i'd change it if she really couldn't come because I want him to be happy but aarrrggghhh she infuriates me!!!

We are getting married at the Grand Riviera Princess in Playa del Carmen.... Haven't really thought about a colour scheme yet,,,, Your hotel looks fab had a quick look at it... All I think about is this time next year I will be there in Mexico with only 2 days to go to the wedding. God I am wishing  my life away!!!! I'm so bloody annoyed with my TA, I emailed my WC asking if they do trades and she said no trades but I would be better downgrading to the pearl package which doesn't have the bits I dont want, but my TA never offered me this package in the first place. If they had of done I would have gone for it and added on what I want. So now I have to go back to them again and get them to sort it out, I'm really not happy with them! :-(

Bit of a difference in package price $2500 to $950, I'll be able to get all the extras that I want with that package :-) let's see what they say to that!

 

Well done Michelle that's great :-) my ring is similar to yours.

 

I'm going to pay my dress off tomorrow, and paying bridesmaid dresses off Saturday, next month pay off the rings! :-)

well done on the weight loss michelle. i´ve got 5lb to go, and 10 weeks to get there, which is definitely do-able, until you consider it´s all my families birthdays in november and december, then xmas, then new year, then a weeks all inclusive THEN the wedding!

We paid our holiday off on saturday, that´s the major thing done. The big stuff is really only rings now, and bridal jewellery..... and suitcases, and i need shoes, and we need to sort music out. Ah well, it´ll all get sorted eventually!

Herbie - did you not know what the package with your TA included as when we bkd with Thomson we knew exactly what was and wasnt included? If you are not happy with the package the TA offers could you not just cancel it losing the deposit and book it direct with the hotel?

Josie when. Booked we wasn't given the option of the pearl package otherwise I would have booked it, so I hastily book the silver knowing there was things in the package didn't want. My TA also warned me not to book direct incase anything happened i wouldnt be covered. So hopefully I'll be able to downgrade the package today.
