Oh yes & apparentley he had no choice but to talk about weddings for two hours last night but says I wouldn't let him get a word in edgeways & as far as he sees it I seem to have made all the decisions anyway......to which I said 'would you like to pick the flavour of the cake then'......hahahaha

we are also having songbird for walking down the aisle....its so lovely!

 

my turn for a rant!!!

ok so we booked in May (the day after the brochures were released) and it took around 5 weeks for the wedding package to arrive so we completed & signed and returned it the next day. then we waited.....and waited....and waited! I have been ringing the thomsons wedding line about once a week and when I got in from work today I decided to ring again and demand for something to be done. the confirmation wedding date should have taken 6-8 weeks and its been 9. anyway i rang and spoke to a lovely girl who rang the resort directly whilst i was on the other line. We fly out on 6th may so we had requested any dates from 12-15th may.

12TH - 15TH MAY UNAVAILABLE!!!

I was so devastated. the earliest date we have been offered is 17th may which is our day 11. i almost cried on the phone i was so upset as we were looking forward to having a nice week chilling after the wedding.

Then my other half got in and we discussed it and the only other option is to change the date we fly out by 1 week but as we have 40 guests this would not be easy! so we have decided that we will stick with the date. it just means a week of partying before we get married. sorry for the rant but had to get it off my chest when we booked we were basically told that we were guaranteed the date we wanted as we were first to book! aaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh xx

OMG Lyndsey!!!! That is terrible, I can't believe they made you wait that long & then your dates not available!!  I hope you kicked off major....they should give you something for free or additional upgrades for that cock up!!

 

On the other hand I'm sure it will still be fantastic & just think of the build up of excitement once your in resort....sending you ((((hugs))))

OMG I know how u feel we are having a right old mare with Thomson.  To cut a long story short we also booked 3 weeks after the prices came out and they proposed 24th Jan which is 10 days into our hols which didnt bother me - however we signed all the documents in December and were told we would have our date within 6 weeks.  10 weeks go by and we hear nothing we are then told the dates for 2011 weddings come out in August by the hotel, i contacted the hotel direct and they confirmed this was the case.  We are now 18th Aug and we have been told it is now October when we have our date confirmed and that is also when they want our final payment made!!!!!  Thomson are a complete pile of cack - i find out more information myself than they do.  When FI went into the shop today they said we had made it up that the hotel told us we find out in October - so we sent them the email we got from the hotel!  FI has given them until Monday and he is then going to sit in the shop until they give him some straight answers - even if he gets removed by the police he told them - lol!  And knowing what a stubborn git he is he will - he has his sights set on all sorts of freebies now - lol.  I am quite calm over it suprisingly he however is starting to blow his top.  I am now in contact with the hotel direct.  Its not so much the date issue its the fact that they lie constantly and hate it when you confront them -arrrggghhhhhhhhh.

OMG and there is me moaning about an hours time change. At least we have our date. I can't believe you book that far in advance and they have balls the date up. I would be screwing. You rant away i would!!! It is disappointing now but fingers x'd it all works out and you have the wedding of your dreams. (((hugs)))..x

 

Josie i cannot believe they are making you wait till Oct!!!! Can you not contact the hotel direct like we did? I would not be as patient as you are. why does it take them so long? How funny your FI is, lol... Sounds like he's a man on a mission and wants some answers. Good for him!!

 

Well my news today is the new photographer has got back to me and with a price list (they are dearer than the last ppl)..!!!! and said they haven't got all their recent pix online yet but will send me some via email. So i will wait and see them. We have 9months and 4days till we fly so there must be someone that use's them before we go and we can have a nosy at those. All these months researching on the old photographer was wasted (... but hay hoe i could look at wedding pix all day so it was a pleasure anyway ha ha x  Still no news on our ceremony time yet though (.. but i wont moan anymore going by poor Lynseys post at least we have our date x

that is soooooooooooooooooooo bad! how appalling. i really would recommend people book their holidays through a TA, but the wedding direct with the hotel, you have so much more control!

I'm having a drama (again) today. We are still up in the air with the new photographer. They havn't got back to me and nobody seems to know much about them... then i get our wedding confirmation from Cosmos and the time is wrong on it. on a better note. The bridal shop phoned. Yes they had ordered my dress.. (aarrghh so exciting) but i was quick enough to get it changed with no charge. So a size 10 it is..... phew!!

Oh dear - all these muck ups with your arrangements girls!  I would be savage if I were you!  Makes you panic about mine but I have folowed suit with what Woodsy just recommended.  We are doing ours through the hotel (A tiny bit more expensive) and arranging the rest direct through the TA.

 

I know some people will moan about the cost but I just think that way me and the WC have a bit more control a bit earlier on.  Well I hope anyway.

 

I desperately need to do some work on the website this week as our STD are going out next and I am so unprepared!

Well we origanally wanted 3pm as we are having our reception meal in an al a carte and they will only do group sittings at 6pm or 9pm. 9pm is to late for us as we have small children coming so we have to go with the 6pm slot. If we get married at 4pm it will only give us 2hours. So not long enough for ceremony, photos, cocktail hour etc and i dont want to feel rushed on my wedding day. I am more than happy and would prefer to marry at 4 or 5pm but it's the restaurant that is really dictating what we have (.. One of my BM's is trying to contact the hotel today to see if she can try and get the seating times. If we can marry at 4 and have our meal at 7 i will be a happy girlie )...
