Are you arriving ahead of your guests?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, I am planning my DW from Vancouver to Montego Bay, JA and I am wondering if I should be planning on arriving a few days early before the guests arrived. I orginally had not planned on it (as it will cut into our 2nd week alone) but now I am wondering if I should?? Any advice appreciated!

We are arriving a few days before everyone but my parents. We just feel we have a lot of things to do before our guests arrive and I'd rather not be running around when they all get there. We'll probably meet with our coordinator and put together some last minute items for the wedding a few days before. However, if you have someone doing all of this for you, you might not need to be there so early. I suppose it depends on how much help you have.

Good luck!

We are getting there on Tuesday and we were recommending everyone get there on Thursday so we could have a couple days alone to decompress before the craziness starts. However, a lot of our guests have decided to come in on Wednesday which is fine, I just hope they aren't expecting us to spend a lot of time with them as we will have things to get done. However, it does help that it is spaced out when people get in so we have time to greet them I guess.

We were originally recommending Thurs through Monday so they could spend Sunday after the wedding to relax and recover but a lot are headed out on Sunday and I think they are going to regret that.

We are arriving ahead of our guests (except for my parents, and sister). I really wanted it this way so that i could have a moment of relaxation before everyone arrives (they are a partying group - big time). Also, i wanted to be able to personally deliver the OOT bags upon arrival and ill need time to finish them up once we arrive!

We're arriving ahead of our guests as well...we are arriving on Monday and most of our guests are arriving on thursday and some on friday...I just wanted to give myself some extra time just incase i didnt get something done and i needed to run around doing stuff or buying last minute things...just so that way when the guests do arrive we can spend as much time with them as possible.

We're mostly all arriving together on the same flight! since we are travelling from the uk,it kinda makes it easier, we have a few guests coming fro the US and not sure yet when they will arrive, it'll be my parents, sister(BM) arriving a few days after us I think? If i had the choice though I would liked to have had a few day alone first I think?

So far, everyone who has booked has been part of my group on the same flight from Toronto. This is good and bad, mostly for the OOT bags. Good because I can use some of their baggage allowance (MOH, BM, MOG, FOG, FI's kids who thankfully don't need full-sized suitcases but are going to be bringing them anyway ..lol) to transport the goodies for the OOT bags. However, this is also bad, because I really wanted the OOT bags to be in the rooms when the guests checked in. I will still have to retrieve the contents and assemble them once we get there, so maybe I'll be able to get them into the rooms while everyone is out at dinner the first night?? Hoping that the WC will be able to arrange this!

Well my situation is a little different. FI lives in Ja so my sister, our son and myself are arriving on wednesday and everyone else on thursday but all guest are only staying a long weekend thursday-sunday. Wedding is on friday. But we are staying for two weeks in JA only wed-sun at the hotel though.

I think either way is fine even if its one day but if you will be their after the guest leave that is good to because that will give you time after everyone leaves to relax after everything.

ditto! Our parents are getting there early too, but the guests won't arrive until Thursday :)
