Booked Cabo Surf for April 5, 2008!!

Recommended Posts

Congrats! :)

We went to costco and bought a bunch of food for our rooms. Bagels, etc. No one really ate that stuff to be honest. Everyone liked the hotel food better wink.gif We did OOT bags with tons of snacks from Costco.

If you're doing a 3-day trip like a lot of brides (and we did), I wouldn't worry that much about there only being one restaurant. The food at the Seven Seas is really great. I didn't get sick of it at all. Like Janet, I would also advise your guests to rent cars. There are a lot of great restaurants locally and they're probably going to want to get out. Zippers is pretty close and was good. But considering that people will prob arrive on Thurs, with some food & drink provided, and meals provided Friday and Saturday I would definitely not be that concerned about providing anything more.

We had 2 events in downtown, but did not worry about transportation for our guests. The hotel can arrange large van cabs. Most of our guests just jumped in those together. I don't think that it was more than $10 each to use these cabs and they fit about 10 people. Other people drove themselves.

hope that helps, and congrats cheesy.gif

Congrats on booking your venue!! We got married at Cabo Surf in March and absolutely loved it. As far as the food situation goes - I wouldn't worry about it. If people don't want to eat at the hotel, they can always drive a few km's and find all kinds of options in San Jose.

And to echo what Janet said - definitely encourage your guests to rent cars! I wanted to kill my mother & her friend who insisted they didn't need a car & would use the public transportation...but ended up calling us all the time to give them rides to & from the hotel (they stayed in a condo). No bride should be lugging people around on her wedding day!

As far as an off site RD, definitely do it! We had ours in downtown Cabo on the beach. I arranged trasportation for everyone - round trip from CS & surrounding hotel/condos cost $13 per person. You could probably get a lower rate since you'll have many more people than we did. I am very glad we did that though, because everybody got smashed at the RD.

It is sucha great feeling to book the hotel. Congrats on your choice. All the reviews are great about Cabo Surf on this forum. I have not been there so am not much help, but having breakfast items in your room sounds great but do you really want people wandering in and out of your room every morning? Maybe the hotel can set up a table somewhere that you can have the items out everyday for a small charge. It will only be your family and friends so you don't have to worry about other tourists eating it.

An offsite restaurant sounds like a great idea. It iwll give your guests a breather in funds and will be a nice treat to get offsite. I was thinking of doing it but I am at Dreams which is an AI and it doesn't make too much sense to pay for dinner when its already paid for. I still may to a sunset cruise for my RD for the guests. We'll see. I don't have much time left to decide, lol... Good luck to you!!
